Who is Felipe de Morais?

Born in Rio de Janeiro and now living in Porto Alegre for over a decade, Felipe proudly calls the city home.
He is the dad of Paçoca 🐶, a purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu 🥋, and a true problem-solver, always driven by the desire to make a difference.

Early on, Felipe even considered studying Law to fight against injustice. But it was in technology that he found his path. He started as an intern at major companies, discovered Python and Django, and never looked back. From there, he immersed himself in open source and the local community.

Seeing that women were still underrepresented in tech, he got involved with initiatives like Django Girls. But he felt there was still more to be done, and that is when the idea that changed everything came along: founding AfroPython, a project that continues to empower Black people through technology to this day.

Talks and Workshops

If there is one thing Felipe loves, it is sharing knowledge. He has traveled across Brazil and beyond to deliver talks and workshops that inspire people everywhere. He has been part of events like DjangoCon, PyCon US, Python Brasil, and many regional Python conferences, always representing his community with pride.

Here is a selection of some of the content Felipe shares:
